Student Protest in Surabaya Run in Orderly Manner, UNAIR Rector: Thank you

UNAIR NEWS – Demonstration carried out by tens of thousands of students from various state and private universities in front of East Java DPRD Building on Thursday, September 27, run safely, in an orderly manner. Until the demonstration ended, there were no losses, either from the student or the authorities.

For this reason, UNAIR Rector Prof. Moh. Nasih, who is on a trip in Egypt, conveyed his appreciation to students, authorities, and the community. Initially, Prof. Nasih thought that undesirable things could happen like in various other cities. For this reason, when he was informed that the demonstration activities proceeded safely and in an orderly manner, he appreciated the maturity shown from all parties.

“I really appreciate all those who behaved maturely,” said Prof. Nasih.

Furthermore, Prof. Nasih also thanked the police for carrying out their duties very well, in keeping students safe during the protest.

“Thank you to the police for looking after our students very well,” he said.

Prof. Nasih also said thank you to all students, especially UNAIR students who participated in the demonstration. In the protest, UNAIR students showed maturity. From the obtained information, UNAIR students also did the clean up after the protest.

“To my children, thank you for being very mature in expressing opinion during demonstration,” said Prof. Nasih.

In the end, Prof. Nasih also thanked to students who chose to stay on campus. Despite the demonstration, teaching and learning activities in UNAIR campuses were still running well.
