BEM UNAIR to Make Indonesia as Maritime Axis Through Petition Signing

UNAIR NEWS – Universitas Airlangga Student Executive Board (BEM UNAIR) continues to work together for the progress of the nation. This time, the Head of BEM UNAIR together with 7000 freshmen signed a petition to realize Indonesia as a maritime axis on Monday, August 5, 2019.

UNAIR NEWS interviewed Ema Syihad, Minister of Human Resources Development (PSDM) BEM UNAIR. According to her, the purpose of the event was to remind the freshmen on the ideals of the President of Indonesia, Joko Widodo.

“The purpose of this petition event, we want to remember the ideals of Pak Joko Widodo that want to realize Indonesia as a maritime axis,” she said.

Previously, BEM UNAIR had conducted a roleplay event with freshmen maritime axis and economic sovereignty. From the results of the roleplay, freshmen then sign the petition on the banner to realize Indonesia as a maritime axis.

“So, before conducting roleplay yesterday and before submitting the petition, BEM Sospol (Ministry of Social and Political Affairs of BEM, ed) had already conducted a study related to this petition,” she explained.

Furthermore, Ema explained that the signing of a petition with 7000 freshmen had been carried out yesterday, August 4, 2019. Today only the petition signing by the Head of BEM UNAIR and continued with the oration.

“The event was then continued with a speech by the Ministry of Social and Political Affairs of UNAIR to support and strengthen the contents of the petition,” she stated.
