UNAIR NEWS – The system change from the New Order era to Reformation in the mid-1998, on May was a massive momentum for Indonesia’s historical record. As an important event, it has contributed to the changes in the state order.
In response, Student Executive Body (BEM) Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (BIS) Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) held a series of activities entitled “Nostalgia Mei Kelabu”. The event was initiated by the Ministry of Politics and Strategy (Polstrat) held every year.
Elni Nainggolan as Minister of Polstrat BEM FISIP UNAIR explained the importance of remembering Reformation era. The event was held on Tuesday, May 21 at Soentandyo Hall, Building C FISIP UNAIR and continued at the park behind FISIP UNAIR in the evening.
“We held this event with three concepts, a series of activities including raising funds, interactive talk shows and theatrical performances,” he said.
The presenters of the talk show included Utomo as the activist’s parents, Dr. Siti Aminah MA. FISIP UNAIR lecturer, Fatkhul Khoir from Commission for Missing Persons and Victims of Violence (Kontras) Surabaya, Luhur Kayungga as Secretary General of Surabaya Arts Council (DKS), and Rizal Poetra as an activist at Risalah Pena Merah.
Meanwhile, fundraising conducted at FISIP UNAIR in the afternoon, it was collected for five hundred thousand rupiahs. The fundraising will be donated to the families of Bimo Petrus.
“The most important thing is the participation of all FISIP citizens who have contributed for the event,” Elni said.
The event was also enlivened with theatrical performances by Surabaya students and artists. PUSKA FISIP UNAIR brought theatrical poetry drama about the tragedy of 98, and there was Pakde Mahdi pantomime which performed poems regarding the community. (*)
