UNAIR NEWS – Ramadan is a wonderful moment to share with others. Association of Sharia Economics Studies (AcSES) Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) also held its 2019 AcSES Social Responsibility (ASR) on Saturday, May 18, 2019.
The main purpose of ASR is to learn how to build a sense of humanity, blend in with the general public, and learn to share with others. It cannot be separated from the nature of humans who live in the world to help each other.
Being held at Hidayah Umat Orphanage, Jl. Ketabang Magersari II no. 6, AcSES management distributed donations from students in forms of money, books, and clothes. Ulfi Sasabel Chumairoh as the chief executive of ASR revealed that the donation has been collected since April.
“The collection was not actually easy, but Alhamdulillah a lot of people helped, ” she said.
Ulfi said that ASR’s main activity was to instill Islamic values to Hidayah Umat Orphans. The program was opened with the Koran recitation, followed with Asr prayer in congregation, playing games with the orphans and closed with a sermon.
“They (the orphans, ed) looked very happy when Azan Maghreb echoed, then we broke the fast with them,” she said.
Ulfi hoped that the children of Hidayah Umat Orphanage can remain happy through their days even without parents. Ulfi wants them to realize that around them there are people who love and care for them.
“I hope, they can be children who are blessed both in the world and the hereafter,” he concluded.
Furthermore, the director of AcSES Hasbi Ash Shidiq revealed that in addition to be mean to share. ASR is intended to remind AcSES management to always be grateful for the blessings given by Allah.
“Besides, by seeing the joy of the orphans at Hidayah Umat Orphanage, AcSES management will always be enthusiastic in developing Islamic economy even though there are many challenges and obstacles,” she concluded. (*)
