UNAIR NEWS – The Head of UNAIR Center for Information and Public Relations responded quickly to the tweets related to KPU’s system on social media involving  one of UNAIR’s lecturer. Since the beginning of May, Soegianto Sulistiono, one of the lecturers of Faculty of Science and Technology Universitas Airlangga (FST UNAIR) questioned the results of 2019 Election Vote Counting Information System (Situng) conducted by Commission of General Election (KPU).

“Soegianto’s comments on his social media accounts is his personal opinion. It has nothing to do with UNAIR. It is personal matter, “said Dr. Suko Widodo, M.Si as Head of UNAIR Center for Information and Public Relations.

A post on Soegianto’s Facebook account widely reported by other media was about his finding on mistakes to data input in KPU’s system that reached 57,794 votes. As a result of the post, Sugianto was reported missing and could not be contacted.

Responding to the news, Suko Widodo said that Soegianto is indeed a Physics lecturer at UNAIR. However, he said he was not competent enough to assess Soegianto’s expertise in the field of information technology.

Suko also dismissed some news reporting Soegianto could not be contacted. Because based on his colleagues, he is still in Surabaya and does his daily activities.

“We’ve tried to make contact, but sometimes the cellphone is active and sometimes not active,” said Dr Suko. (*)
