FEB UNAIR Holds Entrepreneur Day 2019 to Foster Entrepreneurial Skill

UNAIR NEWS – Nowadays, students are required to always innovate and work in order to open new business opportunities. Therefore, in order to fulfill the task of entrepreneurship course as well as develop the entrepreneurial skill, students of Management and Accounting of Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) held an 2019 Entrepreneurship Day (E-Day).

This year’s E-Day was titled “Green Night Festival” and held on Saturday, May 5, 2019 at Campus B UNAIR Master of Management Yard. Hundreds of students from FEB UNAIR Management and Accounting program exhibited products they initiated three months ago.

In general, the products displayed in the exhibition were environmentally friendly food and drinks products. Among them were Tama Rice, Morifera Tea, I Cheap I Chips, Jamu Pam Pim, Akayuz, I Leeco, Bags of Heroes, and Aromatherapy Pillow.

Not only entrepreneurship exhibition, a talk show was also held. The speakers were young entrepreneurs who pioneered eco-friendly products business such as Muhammad Arif Susanto and Muhammad Fikri.

Muhammad Arif Susanto is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Dus Duk Duk. A creative industry company on cardboard material exploration as interior furniture. According to Arif, Dus Duk Duk was inspired by the large amount of cardboard material often thrown away.

“If it is processed, the cardboard material can be useful for the environment,” he said.

Furthermore, Muhammad Fikri, a young businessman who produces Avero Foot Deodorant also shared his experiences in the world of entrepreneurship. According to Fikri, students must cultivate a mindset that even though they fail many times they must keep trying.

“From our failures we learn lessons that can be used as evaluations to continue to develop,” he explained.

Fikri advised the students not to get tired easily in innovating because the only way to survive is to keep innovating. Students must have a strong commitment to what they do.
