UNAIR Stem Cell Attracts Attention at 2019 Indonesia Startup Summit

UNAIR NEWS – An excellent innovation product of Universitas Airlangga,  ‘Stem Cell’ attracted attention in a big event. After getting the spotlight in Indonesia Science Day last year, now Stem Cell is the main attraction for visitors in 2019 Indonesia Start-up Summit held on Wednesday, April 10, 2019 at the Jiexpo Hall, Jakarta.

Center for Stem Cell Research and Development, Universitas Airlangga is one of invited institutions that exhibited research and innovation product.

Stem Cell is research product of Universitas Airlangga that received Kemeristekdikti innovation grants in 2017. This product has many uses and one of them is anti-aging.

The stem cell products exhibited in 2019 Indonesia Start-up Summit are packaged in the form of serum in small and closed glass bottles to avoid contamination. UNAIR Stem Cell booth was crowded by visitors who wanted to know more about the use of stem cells and try the serum directly.

One of the visitors came, Airni, a student of Bogor Agricultural Institute claimed that she had never known clearly and curiously about the usefulness of stem cells that gain popularity in the medical world recently.

“After knowing the many and excellent uses of stem cells, I am proud of UNAIR who can develop this product,” Airni said.

2019 Indonesia Start-up Summit is an event initiated by Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education, in collaboration with Technology-Based Beginner Companies (PPBT). In this activity, there were 1,500 start-ups from all over Indonesia.

More than 5,000 invitations from Kemenristekdikti to start-up activists crowded the opening ceremony of 2019 Indonesia Start-up Summit which was opened by Menristekdikti Muhammad Nasir.

UNAIR Business Incubator Team also sent its delegation to attend the event series from 2019Indonesia Startup Summit, such as CPPBT Booth Camp activities (Prospective Beginner Company Based on Technology) and PPBT (Technology-Based Beginner Company) Business Camp which took place from April 9-14, 2019.

“UNAIR Business Incubator has 3 titles for CPPBT and 5 PPBT tenants in this event. With this event, UNAIR incubator delegation can become a pilot company that can develop as expected for Indonesia in the future,” said Ahmad Yusri Authoni, Assistant Manager of UNAIR’s Business Incubator Program. (*)
