UNAIR NEWS – Biology Student Association (Himbio) of Universitas Airlangga for the first time held Himbio Teaching activity, “Let’s Unite Hearts, Sincerity to Serve”. The activity was community service division work program of Hima Biologi UNAIR.
The activity was held at SD Tunas Jaya, located on Jalan Banyu Urip, Putat Jaya Village on Saturday, March 23, 2019. Unlike previous year, such an event was a combination of activities with BEM FST. However, this time Himbio UNAIR held its own “Himbio Teaching” event which was expected to be sustainable in the following years.
“This event was held for the first time alone by Hima, last year it was still joined by BEM FST. This event is expected to improve students’ knowledge about biology and more enthusiasm in learning,” Haikal said as Head of the 2019 Himbio Teaching committee.
The Himbio Teaching activity took place from 8 am to 11 am. The opening began with remarks from the Head of the committee, Head of student association (Hima) and one of the teachers as a symbol of Himbio Teaching activities. Students came from grades 1 to 6 and they were very happy with the activity.
“Because this activity is packaged with the delivery of simple and fun material so that students are not bored and feeling excited,” he added.
Materials were delivered by representatives of study groups from UNAIR Biology such as KS Herpetology, and KS Peksia by showing videos and pictures of animal images so students are interested in the material presented.
“This activity is very helpful for SD Tunas Jaya students who although they are at disadvantaged, but the enthusiasm of students to learn was very extraordinary. Hopefully this activity will continue and help them at schools, “said Rizal Adistya Pradana as Head of UNAIR Biology Student Association.
