UNAIR NEWS – Center for Learning Innovation and Certification (PIPS) Universitas Airlangga held a workshop entitled Workshop on Preparation and Development of Teaching Material in Millennial Era, in Kahuripan Room 301, 3rd floor, Management Office, UNAIR. The event on March 20, 2019 was attended by more than one hundred lecturers from various faculties in UNAIR.
The workshop was opened directly by UNAIR Vice Rector I Prof. Djoko Santoso, dr., Sp.PD-KGH, Ph.D., FINASIM. In his remarks, Prof. Djoko said that all generations of teachers must adjust with the times by making teaching materials which is appropriate with the times. They must also emphasize the importance of writing and reading.
“Writing and reading are like husband and wife, both of which are related to each other,” he added.
The workshop was expected to encourage lecturers to make the correct and good textbooks, in accordance with scientific standards textbooks that can be used for student learning activities. Prof. Dr. Bunyamin Maftuh, M.Pd., M.A. also attended the workshop.
“Good learning materials are expected to be a provision for students to be able to improve their achievements,” said the Director of Career and Human Resources Competence, Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education.
The workshop started at 08.30 WIB also presented a speaker who gave explanations from writing technique to book submission to publishers. She is Prof. Dr. Widji Soeratri, Apt, DEA.
“Most important thing is willingness of the lecturers to write. Assistance to lecturers who want to publish the results of their writings from submitting to publishers to printing to overcome difficulties in making books is needed, ” she said.
The workshop was held by UNAIR Center for Learning Innovation and Certification (PIPS). The activity was expected to motivate lecturers to create standardized textbooks. (*)
