UNAIR NEWS – Inviting all of Head Student Activity Unit in Universitas Airlangga, Directorate of Student Affairs held a workshop for 2019 Student Activity Unit (UKM). The annual activity held in the beginning of new UKM management was carried out as an effort to optimize the potential of UKMF .
Lasted for 3 days on 22-24 February, the event took place at Kahuripan Room, 3rd Floor, Management Office, Campus C UNAIR. There were 42 SMEs in UNAIR, the activity was opened by Vice Rector I Prof. Dr., Djoko Santoso, Ph.D., K-GH., FINASIM, and continued with a series of material and discussions in 3 days.
“Against or adapt, we have to respond current globalization. For instance, China is not affected because they have an identity, “said Dr. Taufiq Rahman, S.H., M.Si., in organization management material.
On the first day, an introduction to management structure of UKM UNAIR Communication Forum (FORKOM) in 2019 was emphasized as an intermediary facilitator between UKM and Directorate of Student Affairs.
In UNAIR development policy material, Drs. Koko Srimulyo explained that organization in the future should be unique and get recognition in international competition.
“Not only GPA, soft skills should be developed. GPA is only 15% for work requirement.”said Koko in delivering the last material on the first day.
On the second day, starting the series of material, Karnaji, S. Sos., M.Si., explained about the rules for lending facilities and infrastructure that must be passed by UKM to use those facilities. Karnaji explained the details of rental fees and what facilities were obtained when borrowing certain places through licensing in rektorat.
Dr. A. Shofy Mubarak, S.Pi, M.Si, as the coach of UKM UNAIR talked about strategy in developing UKM towards international realm. On that occasion, participants were directed to maximize their capabilities and achievements.
“Managing the important thing first and be proactive, don’t be reactive,” said Shofy.
After the event, UKM with new management expected to be better towards 500 world class universities. (*)
