AEE 2019 Invites Participants to Know about Student Exchange

UNAIR NEWS – Airlangga Education Expo (AEE) 2019 presented information regarding to Student Exchange. In the talkshow hosted by Prof. Dr. Ni Nyoman Tri Puspaningsih M.Si., participants who were mostly high school students were given general introduction of Student Exchange.

“Student exchange can be done in Indonesia nor outside the country” explained Prof. Nyoman.

Prof. Nyoman, Executive Director of Airlangga Global Engagement (AGE) stated that someone who has officially become Universitas Airlangga student throughout the year has opportunity to take part in Student Exchange.

Moreover, UNAIR as one of the top 4 universities in Indonesia and members of Asean University Network (AUN).  The opportunity to go abroad is getting bigger and the choices are increasingly diverse. In choosing programs that students will follow, they should know what skills they want to develop. No doubt that UNAIR  provides the best facilities for its students.

Prof. Nyoman explained that students can develop soft skills or hard skills. Soft skills can be improved by participating in international competitions while hard skills trained through taking courses in foreign universities. Certainly, in the process of choosing what students want there are requirements that should be fulfilled.

“Obviously, you have to be able in speaking English to communicate and your parent’s permission before leaving.” said Prof. Nyoman.

Another advantage that will be obtained by students who have successfully brought Universitas Airlangga name to international has been prepared. Students can accumulated credit transfers, credit earnings, research, and internship as replacement for KKN or PKL.

Having experience abroad with various events will help students to be more discipline, higher in tolerance, better teamwork and greater gratitude for what they have.

In the end, Prof. Nyoman quoting from Barack Obama explained with student exchange, there will be no wall boundaries between countries. Thus, everyone could gather around and exchange stories and there will be sympathy also empathy to help each other.
