UNAIR Participates in The ASEAN & Indian Higher Education Leaders’ Conference

UNAIR NEWS – As one of the best universities in Indonesia mandated to be among Top 500 world class universities, Universitas Airlangga continues to strengthen cooperation and its position globally. Various collaborations continue to be carried out, ranging from partnerships for the development of education, research, and community service.

This time, through Airlangga Global Engagement (AGE), UNAIR participated in The ASEAN & Indian Higher Education Leaders’ Conference activities. The event which was themed “Achieving Research Excellence” within ASEAN & Indian Universities, is held at the Jindal Global University OP, India, from Jan. 28 to 29, 2019.

On that occasion, from Jan. 30th to 31st 2019 UNAIR was represented by UNAIR AGE Executive Director Prof. Ni Nyoman Tri Puspaningsih and Vice Dean 3 Faculty of Pharmacy UNAIR Dr. Dewi Melani and Head of UNE AGE Global Research Initiatives Division Viqi Ardaniah, M.A. Linguistics. with Indonesian Embassy held strategic meetings with nine universities such as Kalisalingam University, Dirbugarh University, Sharda University, Manipal University, University of Delhi, Doon Business School, IIT Hyderabad, Chitkara University and UPES India. It took place at Indonesian Embassy in New Delhi, India.

Regarding the results of the activity, to UNAIR NEWS, Prof. Nyoman said that UNAIR’s participation in the activity because UNAIR was one of the panelists at The ASEAN & Indian Higher Education Leaders’ Conference.

“With the Indonesian Embassy in India, we all want to embrace universities in India to cooperate in the field of Higher Education Tri Dharma,” she explained.

Furthermore, Prof. Nyoman also said that the activity was also the right moment to support the Universitas Airlangga Rector’s various efforts and policies regarding the acceleration of UNAIR position on the world stage.

“In the event, we also promoted the worldwide UNAIR community service program, WUACD. Alhamdulillah, we received a positive response from several universities who were interested in joining, such as Zayed University UAE, University of Tasmania Australia, Vietnam National University, Derby University UK, University of Modern Dubai Science, University of Wollongong Australia, Faculti of Usuluddin Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali Brunei, and University of New York Stony Brook USA,” she explained.
