UNAIR NEWS – In order to actualize Community Service Program – Learning Together with Community (KKN-BBM) 59 held by Institute of Community Service Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR), a number of UNAIR students held leadership and organizational training events titled “Youth Triumph”. The event took place in Gubeng Hall Surabaya on Saturday January 19.
This activity collaborates with various elements of youth, including Indonesian Creative Millennial Community (ICMC), International des Commerciales Association (AIESEC), Karang Taruna group in Gubeng District, and Kulit Kreasindo as one of Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Surabaya.
The event was also attended by hundreds of participants consisting of high school students, students, and youth administrators from various sub-districts in Surabaya. UNAIR KKN-BBM 59 Coordinator, Achmad Fikri Fitrananda explained that the main objective of the event was to shape leadership in responding to the challenges and opportunities of entrepreneurship in millennial era and to raise awareness to use local products in line with the role of youth as trendsetter.
As stated by Hutrimas Wimapiguna Sumarjan, Head of Karang Taruna Gubeng that until now the development of MSME sector is still experiencing several obstacles and challenges.
“The development of MSMEs during Industrial Revolution 4.0 was full of challenges and to raise awareness about the challenges in the future. Making empowerment of a start-up youth-based economy is a must, “he explained.
In addition, Fadjar Cahyadi as ICMC’s CEO added that now and in the future, ICMC is working on a project that focuses on solving problems in various fields by promoting proactive, collaborative and innovative forms of advocacy.
“One of the projects focuses on developing and empowering digital platform-based MSMEs to answer the challenges in 4.0 Industrial Revolution era,” he said.
In the end of the event, all parties expressed their commitment to participate in the development and empowerment of digital-based MSMEs. This also confirms that efforts to guard the empowerment and development of MSMEs in Surabaya.
