UNAIR Strengthens Partnership with King Abdul Aziz University

UNAIR NEWS – As one of the best state universities in Indonesia, Universitas Airlangga is targeted to be among top 500 world class universities in the world. Various steps and breakthroughs such as improving quality of education, curriculum, research, innovation, and community service are continuously carried out.

All of these things cannot be done without others’ supports. UNAIR as part of  the global education also continuously establish collaborations with various world-class universities to improve its position. Therefore, through Vice Rector for International Partnerships, UNAIR continues to strengthens partnerships with various universities in the world.

This time, Prof. Mochammad Amin Alamsjah, Ir., M.Si., Ph.D., as Vice Rector III of Universitas Airlangga held a collaboration by visiting King Abdul Azis University in Saudi Arabia on Thursday, November 1. To UNAIR NEWS Prof. Amin said that during the visit there were several things agreed upon, from the main agenda to conduct strategic meeting with Faculty of Marine Sciences and Faculty of Computing & Information Technology of King Abdul Azis University Saudi Arabia.

“These two faculties are the focus of our collaboration,” he said.

Regarding the agreements, Prof. Amin stated that in the near future there will be opportunity for students’ field work from King Abdul Azis University Saudi Arabia.

Prof. Amin also said that opportunity for joint research using a scheme managed by Saudi Arabia Government for UNAIR researchers as co-principal investigators is also the main thing to be carried out in the future.

“And vice versa, King Abdul Aziz University researchers could also become the co-principal investigators,” he explained.

For the next agreement, Prof. Amin said that later UNAIR graduates could get the opportunity to study further at King Abdul Aziz University with a full scholarship from the Saudi Arabia Government.

“Both master’s and doctoral students from UNAIR can study in King Abdul Aziz University with a full scholarship from Saudi Arabia government,” he concluded.
