UNAIR NEWS – Various efforts continue to be made by Universitas Airlangga to boost towards Top 500 World Class University (WCU). These efforts are fully supported by all UNAIR academics such as the academics of Faculty of Nursing (FKp) and the Faculty of Public Health (FKM). The two faculties sent their lecturers to La Trobe University, Australia, whose campaign is “All Kinds of Clever”.

Ferry Efendi, S.Kep.Ns., MSc., Ph.D., Setho Hadisuyatmana, S.Kep., Ns., M.NS (CommHlth & PC), and Inge Dhamanti, SKM., MPH., Ph.D . The three lecturers are currently undergoing various activities at the university located in the state of Victoria.

Ferry Efendi, one of the FKp lecturers, said that La Trobe was chosen because it is ranked in the Top 50 in QS version for the nursing category. In addition, there are also highly productive nursing scientists with h-index Scopus = 20 and a total of 150 Scopus indexed papers.

“La Trobe also has a very good support system for its lecturers and staff. We are also given access to the web of science database, where not many public universities in Indonesia have access, “he added.

Ferry is currently attending a Post-doctoral program with funding from the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education. The aim of the post-doctoral program is to conduct joint research and produce scientific papers in reputable international journals with joint publications.

“The requested output is an international joint publication paper submitted to the journal at least Q1 in a minimum status under review in December 2018,” he explained.

Inge, according to Ferry, was taking part in the Endeavor Research Fellowship program. The aim of the program is to conduct research on the role of patient safety organizations in Australia and Indonesia. The first phase of the study was carried out in 3 states in Australia, and involved 7 organizations that might increase in number.

“The second phase will be carried out in Indonesia. The output of the program is learning to improve the role of patient safety organizations in Indonesia, “he added.

Meanwhile, young lecturer Setho Hadisuyatmana is taking part in Executive Fellowship Program from Endeavor Award & Scholarship. The aim is to develop cooperation and partnership between UNAIR and La Trobe and advanced nursing education. The output of this program is a collaboration between UNAIR and La Trobe to boost the achievement in QS ranking.

“I hope that in the future UNAIR can improve the cooperation that has been established so far by sending lecturers and students to achieve outcomes that support WCU’s ranking,” he concluded. (*)
