UNAIR NEWS – The results of State University Entrance Selection (SNMPTN) in 2021 have been officially announced on Monday, March 22, 2021. Rector of Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) Prof. Dr. Mohammad Nasih, SE., MT., Ak., explained that a total of 1,374 students from various provinces and regions in Indonesia passed the 2021 UNAIR SNMPTN pathway.
As one of the best universities in Indonesia, the recorded total number of applicants for UNAIR in 2021 SNMPTN has reached 18,154 students. From that number, the ratio of competition in 2021 UNAIR SNMPTN is 1: 14 (one admitted from 14 students).
“1,374 students admitted from 18,154 students who registered. So, approximately 1 student competes with 14-20 students, ” he said in a press conference at Balairua Room, 4th Floor, Campus C UNAIR, Monday, March 22, 2021.
According to Prof. Nasih, UNAIR accepted students from 584 schools. 84 percent of them came from the East Java region, 2.6 percent from Central Java, 2.05 percent from DKI Jakarta, and 1.9 percent from West Java. Apart from Java, there are also students from East Kalimantan, West Sumatra, Bali, Central Kalimantan, South Kalimantan, and the Riau Islands.
“From East Java, there are around 1,156 participants. Most of them came from the city of Surabaya, reaching 399 students or about 34 percent. Followed by other cities such as Gresik, Sidoarjo, Bojonegoro, Lamongan, and other areas, “he said.
All students accepted by UNAIR are purely from their achievements. So, if there are certain people who claim to get ‘help’ in the admissions process, said Prof. Nasih, it is not true.
“Inform us via helpdesk if there are certain requests outside the official procedures. They (students who pass SNMPTN 2021, ed) are purely from the students’ achievements, “he said.
KIP-College Participants
Among the total that UNAIR received, 334 students were KIP (Smart Indonesia Card) –College recipients. Or, about 24 percent of the total students accepted by UNAIR through 2021 SNMPTN.
Prof. Nasih said that there was indeed more KIP-College participants in SNMPTN 2021. UNAIR quota should be only 20 percent.
“Most of them are in Biology program, with 54 percent of students accepted by 2021 SNMPTN KIP-College,” he said.
Other programs that have received quite a lot of KIP College recipients include Development Economics, Management, Islamic Economics, Public Health, Nursing, Accounting, Sociology, Law, Informatics Technology, and Fishery Product Technology.
“The percentage varies, for example, law program was 15.38 percent,” he said.
Furthermore, Prof. Nasih advised students who passed 2021 SNMPTN to immediately follow up with the registration procedures, such as preparing and fulfilling certain required documents. This information can be viewed on the unair.ac.id page. (*)
