Bahan utama yang diolah dengan distilasi sederhana adalah minyak serai. Melalui proses distilasi, minyak serai dapat diolah menjadi produk berdaya guna tinggi seperti lilin aromaterapi, sabun mandi, dan karbol. Dengan begitu, nilai jual produk pun akan meningkat dan bisa ikut mendongkrak perekonomian warga setempat.
