UNAIR NEWS – Computer Based Test (UTBK) Joint Selection Entrance Test for State Universities (SBMPTN) in 2020 is ready to be carried out starting July 5, 2020. However, there are some adjustments made according to new normal standards and health protocols.
Some of them are the division of odd and even number of participant cards and trimming four sessions into two sessions. The adjustment was made to prevent the movement of masses from one city to another and break the chain of Covid-19 transmission.
The first phase of UTBK will be held on July 5-14, 2020 and the second phase will be on July 20-19, 2020. In addition, there will be a reserve session on July 29 – August 2, 2020, and the result announcement of SBMPTN will be on August 20, 2020.
Head of LTMPT Prof. Mohammad Nasih said that based on the decision of LTMPT and the Indonesian State Universities Rectors Council (MRI), UTBK continued to be carried out offline. However, there are adjustments following the health protocols.
“UTBK will start on July 5, if there are participants who cannot take the test because they do not meet the requirements of Covid-19 task force, they must report to UTBK Center no later than July 2 at 16.00 to get a solution,” he said on Monday, June 6, 2020.
Prof. Nasih also explained that the implementation of UTBK this year is not like last year which was carried out simultaneously. This adjustment must indeed be made in order to break the chain of Covid-19 spread.
Previously, UTBK was planned in four sessions, but now it is cut into two sessions in a day, session I at 09.00-11.15 local time, and session II at 14.00-16.15 local time. There is also a reduction in the type of test. If last year there was an Academic Competency Test (TKA) and a Scholastic Potential Test (TPS), this year it is only a TPS.
“Currently there are still 12 universities that are not ready, because they are waiting for a letter from the Covid-19 regional task force. But on 5th of July they will definitely be ready, “added the UNAIR Rector.
As additional information, according to the LTMPT circular number 15 / SE.LTMPT / 2020 regarding the relocation of 2020 UTBK SBMPTN, UNESA UTBK Center stated that it does not hold UTBK. Then, participants who got a test scheduled at UNESA UTBK Center will be relocated to UNAIR and ITS UTBK Center.
Furthermore, participants who are still in their regency or city and cannot attend the UTBK Center due to safety and health reasons, they take the test at additional UTBK partner locations, in high school / vocational school partners who meet the requirements.
UTBK participants must bring the necessary documents and maintain their health and comply with the recommended health protocols. During the UTBK implementation, participants are not allowed to make physical contact with other participants. (*)
