UNAIR NEWS – Covid-19 positive cases are increasing every day. Regardless of the situation, the government has introduced a new habit for the people known as new normal.
In response, Department of Health Promotion and Behavioral Sciences (PKIP) Faculty of Public Health (FKM) Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) held Health Communication Media Webinar which was held on Friday, June 26 through the zoom meeting application. In the event, PKIP Department launched various health communication media were made by S1 Public Health students and D3 Health and Safety (K3) students as an educational step to the public regarding Covid-19 and new normal.
Health communication media are made in various forms ranging from audio, visuals such as posters, and audio-visual such as video. In various forms of media, students convey essential information that needs to be known by the public about Covid-19 or about things that need to be prepared in the face of new normal. Not only students, PKIP Department team itself also made their health communication media in the form of posters and videos.
The event shared through social media such as Instagram, WhatsApp, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and others. Social media was chosen because it has a broad reach so that information can be received by the public quickly.
The making of media is under the steps in developing health communication media which consists of assessment steps, where students will conduct discussions with lecturers to analyze the information needed by the community. Such as the creative design process, discussion with the lecturer, and evaluation as well.
Head of FKIP UNAIR PKIP Department, Hario Megatsari S.KM., M.Kes., explained that health communication media of Covid-19 could be a useful contribution to the nation.
