Hilmy’s Story, FKG UNAIR Student Earns Bachelor Degree in Japan

UNAIR NEWS – Faculty of Dentistry (FKG) Universitas Airlangga students graduated from undergraduate education at Hiroshima University, Japan. Hilmy Irsadi Hanif graduated from joint-degree program Hiroshima University.

Joint-degree program International Dental Course (IDC) in collaboration with FKG UNAIR succeeded in bringing Hilmy into Hiroshima University School of Dentistry. He finished his study in four years.

During the closed session, there was also a live broadcast with Dean of FKG UNAIR. Not only that, Hilmy also received a message from Vietnamese, Cambodian, and Japanese students for graduation.

“The message from my friend is facing and handling problems during the study,” he said.

Hilmy is also rumored to be attending graduation according to the schedule set by UNAIR. If there are no obstacles, he will join graduation ceremony on December 2019. He also wants to continue his study at FKG UNAIR for practice.

FKG UNAIR through Maretaningtias Dwi Ariani, drg., M. Kes., PhD., revealed that Hilmy’s success in obtaining a degree is also inseparable from his efforts to increase his knowledge. He also revealed the joint-degree program had been conducted by FKG UNAIR for the first time in 2011.

In addition, Hilmy deepening the knowledge at FKG UNAIR for one year. Moreover, there was a selection for joint degree program of Hiroshima University for four years.

“After candidates pass the selection, they will have the right to join-degree for four years,” he said.

Besides, Hilmy went to Japan to get a scholarship from Japan Student Service Organization (JASSO). The cooperation between FKG UNAIR and JASSO since 2011 was very helpful in facilitating students to gain knowledge.

Meanwhile, UNAIR FKG Dean Dr. R. Darmawan Setijanto, drg., M. Kes., expressed his gratitude because one of FKG UNAIR students was able to practice the knowledge that Hilmi gained in Japan.

“The results obtained by Hilmy are credit learning which is indeed for broadening students’ insights,” he said. (*)
