UNAIR NEWS – College and organization activities do not stop Iga Rahma’s enthusiasm to make achievements. In 2017 Universitas Airlangga Faculty of Nursing (FKp) student succeeded in becoming 2018 Anti-Narcotics Ambassador in her region, Sidoarjo. At that time Iga was inaugurated in a ceremonial event on July 14, 2018 in Pazkul Amphitheater, Kahuripan Nirwana Sidoarjo.
According to Iga, an ambassador must be able to provide greater benefits for her area. For this reason, commitment is very important in achieving that goal.
For almost a year as anti-drug abuse ambassador, Iga was active in counseling on the Prevention of Combating Drug Abuse and Illicit Circulation (P4GN) every week at Sidoarjo Square. There was also capacity building aims to add insight and knowledge about drugs, rehabilitation, and everything related to drugs.
The counseling on drugs according to her is very important because drugs are one of Indonesia’s biggest enemies. So, early counseling is needed to inform the dangers of drugs.
“It is very important, because drugs are one of the enemies of Indonesian state and are one of the biggest problems in Indonesia. So, it needs early counseling, ” she said.
For Iga, young people are very easy to fall into the circle of drugs. Therefore, the counseling of the ambassadors is aimed more to young people.
Being an ambassador, continued Iga, is not so easy, there are many things to face. She was once faced with a former user who could be invited.
“Been to the Plato Foundation. We (Sidoarjo Anti Narcotics Ambassador, ed) were confronted with former users who can be talked. And, it’s not as easy as we think, ” she said.
According to Iga, villages and cities are the same. The most important thing is conveying the material. In the city, counseling is conducted in schools and for the villages, we go to villages which has never got the information.
In the end, for Iga, the key to undergoing her activities and commitment was to be courageous and have unyielding attitude and intelligence that could make changes and being an ambassador is the actualization. (*)
