Study Excursie 2018: Actualization of Pancasila Values for Millennials

UNAIR NEWS –  Study Excursie is an annual compulsory agenda for Universitas Airlangga (MKWU) courses. This activity has been carried out since 2005 and is oriented towards instilling the value of the nation’s character and strengthening nationalism insight. This year’s theme “Actualization of Pancasila Values for Millennials”. The activity was attended by 300 new students, delegates from various faculties and held from Saturday, October 27 to Sunday, October 28 at Kaliandra Hotel, Prigen, Pasuruan.

Previously, participants were sent-off by Director of Academic Affairs UNAIR Prof. Bambang Sektiari Lukiswanto., Drh., DEA at the yard of UNAIR Campus C Management Office. In his remarks, Prof. Bambang encouraged the participants to do and be role models for other students in implementing the values ​​of Pancasila and the knowledge gained during the activities.

“Being excellent students are not only by being a complete student, but they can improve the surrounding environment. Being alumni who make the nation and the country proud, “said Prof. Bambang.

Dr. Listiyono Santoso, SS., M.Hum, the Head of MKWU UNAIR, in his remarks during the opening ceremony explained that the current generation is different from the previous generation. So, learning nationalism insight cannot be done only by using classical methods in the classroom.

In addition, with participants from various faculties, they are expected to be able to discuss national issues. Therefore, one problem of nationalism can be approached with their respective disciplines.

“Hopefully with this activity, your understanding of national values ​​will grow. So you (the participants, ed) must be able to be an example for other Universitas Airlangga students to apply national values ​​in their daily lives and on campus, “said Dr. Listiyono.

Dr. Listiyono hoped that the participants can become a creative minority who can start movement to instill national values ​​in the surrounding environment or even turn UNAIR into a campus with great nationalism.

In the Study Excursie activity, students were not only given material. But also given time to discuss and actualize the results of the discussion in the form of videos, posters or power point slides to be presented to other participants. (*)
