UNAIR NEWS – Universitas Airlangga continues to make education internationalization efforts. In addition to research collaboration and community service, one of these efforts was realized through holding an international education fair. UNAIR held an exhibition of Taiwan education entitled Taiwan Higher Education Fair 2018 in October 2018.
Taiwan Higher Education Fair 2018 is held in collaboration with Taiwan Education Center in Surabaya Indonesia (TECSID) and Universitas Airlangga on Monday, October 22 in the Hall of Universitas Airlangga Management Office, Taiwan Higher Education Fair 2018 presented educational information on top universities in Taiwan.
Visitors can get information on studies and scholarships starting from bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees in Taiwan directly from Taiwan university representatives who attended the event. The event was opened directly by Vice Rector I of Universitas Airlangga Prof. Dr., Djoko Santoso Ph. D., K-GH., FINASIM .; Director General of TETO Surabaya Benson DS Lin; and Head of the Taiwan University Delegation Prof. Yang Liang-Yo. At the opening, Prof. Djoko stated that this event was expected to bring UNAIR to the TOP 500 World University.
“This collaboration can benefit both parties and make the future promising for the sustainability of the respective universities,” said Prof. Djoko.
At the exhibition, there were ten leading universities in Taiwan participating, Asia University, Chienkuo Technology University, China Medical University, Fu Jen Catholic University, Aohsiung Medical University, National Chi Nan University, National Taiwan University, Kaohsiung Campus Shih Chien University, Steering Committee for the Test of Proficiency – Huayu, and Wu Feng University.
Interestingly, some Indonesian students in Taiwan enlivened the event by sharing their tips and experiences during their studies in Taiwan. In addition to learning information and scholarships in Taiwan, the event also featured information about life in Taiwan.
Among other things, about students’ learning experience while working part time and arranging visas, and the Taiwan government program that invited Indonesian to study Taiwanese culture and language through the Huayu Enrichment Scholarship Program scholarship.
In addition to Surabaya, the activity was also held in two other cities, Malang and Denpasar. In Malang, the activity was held on October 22, 2018 at University of Muhammadiyah Malang Campus III and in Denpasar will be held on October 25 at Udayana University Sudirman Campus.
“I hope higher education fair like this can continue until the following year, not only from Taiwan but also from other countries,” said Prof. Djoko. (*)
