UNAIR NEWS – Meilisa Dwi Ervinda was chosen as the International Festival Ambassador two weeks ago. She was surprised by the announcement. Because from hundreds of registrants, only 44 elected representatives were chosen, and she did not have great expectations of becoming an International Festival Ambassador considering the tight competition.

Contacted by phone yesterday, December 30, Meilisa shared her story when she was elected as International Festival (Felari) Ambassador.

“Initially, there were hundreds of registrants, I never thought about winning, I mean, what kind of achievements do I have? Anyway, only 44 representatives were selected. Thank God I was chosen,” added the bespectacled student from Gresik.

Felari Ambassador is the International Festival representative of Global PPI in various regions in Indonesia. It is not surprising that Felari Ambassador is under the auspices of the World Association of Indonesian Students (PPI). Meilissa revealed that there are various kinds, one of which is the PPI Edufest and Scholarship Info. She emphasized the Felari Ambassador as a bridge of information to the wider audience about events organized by the International Festival.

“We continue to promote, we can also be moderators at International Festival events,” said Meilisa.

Referring to the official website, Felari Ambassadors will be used as community media for collaboration between foreign and domestic Indonesian students to carry out Felari’s work programs and disseminate information on education and scholarships abroad to the general public.

When elected as Felari Ambassador, Meilisa got many benefits. One of them is a network of friends throughout Indonesia.

“So the friendship at Felari Ambassador is not only domestic but also abroad. You can even participate in the golden ticket for all Global PPI activities,” said the student who loves literature.

Furthermore, Meilisa gained public speaking experience and received information related to scholarships at domestic and foreign campuses at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

“In addition to getting information related to scholarships, we can also disseminate information related to this to other students at Universitas Airlangga,” she said (*).
