UNAIR NEWS- It is our obligation to help each other, especially during the implementation of the emergency Community Activity Restriction (PPKM) due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The recommendation to stay at home is very effective, and many people extend their stay overseas, so they cannot be with their families, and some undergo self-isolation.

Universitas Airlangga’s Center for Social Fund Management (PUSPAS UNAIR), in the commemoration of 76th Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia and Friday Blessing Alms activity, has distributed supplement packages to students affected by the pandemic undergoing self-isolation in UNAIR’s dormitory.

According to the Head of PUSPAS, Dr. Wisudanto SE., MM. CFP., PUSPAS has also provided a GeNose screening service for the Covid-19 volunteer committee collaborating in the Blessed Friday activity.

“This Blessed Friday Program (August 13, 2021) is combined with the free GeNose service by PUSPAS to BEM UNAIR volunteers before distributing packages to the self-isolating students in the male and female dormitory buildings,” said Dr. Wisudanto.

The contents of distributed packages are adjusted to the targets’ tastes, the students who are millennials. “We also adjust the contents of the distributed packages so that they are excited. There are large-sized millennial cereals, honey, healthy milk, immune supplements, and hand sanitizers to prevent viruses that are sticking to hands,” he said.

“Alhamdullilah, through this activity, we have managed to distribute at least 52 packages, and they have been well received,” he continued.

Besides trying to provide assistance to students who are undergoing self-isolation, the Blessed Friday activity is a form of PUSPAS UNAIR’s efforts to support SDGs 3rd point, namely Good Health and Well-Being. The goal is that the immunity of the self-isolating students can be well maintained.

“Hopefully, through this Blessed Friday activity by PUSPAS, it can be an inspiration and motivation for socio-preneurs or the community out there to keep their morale up and motivated in helping others. So, with this concern, we hope we could handle this pandemic well,” said the Head of PUSPAS UNAIR at the end of the interview session on August 18, 2021.
