UNAIR NEWS – The Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences (FPK) Universitas Airlangga finally approved the establishment of the Student Association (Hima) of Fishery Products Technology (THP) program. Dean of FPK UNAIR Prof Dr Mohammad Amin Alamsjah Ir M Si Ph.D. inaugurated the first management on Wednesday, February 15, 2022, online.
“This new management needs to assess the monotone activities so far,” he said.
The approval of the HIMA THP establishment, stated Prof Amin, was intended to provide a variety of soft skills development spaces for students at FPK UNAIR as academic ability must also be supported by soft skills.
“Hopefully, students (FPK, ed) can contribute more, both internally and externally. Especially to the society,” he stated.
Furthermore, Miftakhul Ulum, as the elected Head of HIMA THP, hoped that students could utilize this new organization as a space for optimal self-exploration and a medium to strengthen student solidarity.
“Although fairly new, related to the organizational structure, of course, we have adjusted to the existing needs,” he mentioned.
It was long known that HIMA THP had planned to establish the organization. It was based on the proposals and aspirations of many FPK UNAIR students. Finally, this aspiration can be realized in 2022 with the help of the Student Executive Board (BEM) and the Student Legislative Body (BLM) of FPK UNAIR.
“Hopefully, the programs can be closer as family. All students can explore more about the department,” Ulum shared.
