At the beginning of 2022, the Director General of Education and Technology will also launch five applications to accelerate digital transformation. The five applications are the Institutional Information System (SIAGA), One Dikti, Single Sign On (SSO), Neo Feeder, Dikti AI Centre. The five were developed to support digital acceleration and service quality in the world of higher education.

In the discussion, the Founder of Drone Emprit Company, Ismail Fahmi, believes that universities can utilize great opportunities in the field of AI and big data. Ismail specifically highlights the role of big data that can be utilized for the decision-making process.

“Abroad, AI and big data really help the policy-making process and maximize services on campus. I have seen a lot, for example, the use of big data to minimize the dropout rate for students,” he explained.

From there, Ismail underlined the use of the Dikti AI Center in the future. The facility has several excellent features such as deep learning, facial recognition, automotive tasks, data ingestion, cloud computing, quantum computing, chatbots.

On the other hand, the Acting Director General of Diktiristek Prof. Ir. Nizam, M.Sc., DIC., Ph.D. emphasized that the presence of the Dikti AI Center is a form of the institution’s efforts to accelerate the service and integrity of the higher education system.

Prof. Nizam said that in the future, the AI Center will become the property of students and lecturers that can be used to support various projects or research. “We are also developing super apps, where five services are on one platform, called Satu Dikti. SSO is used to make it easier for us to log in and sign in to an account with only one identity. Meanwhile, Neo Feeder will simplify the service interface at Dikti,” he explained.

In the event held online via Zoom Meeting and the YouTube live streaming, hundreds of representatives of universities in Indonesia were also present to express opinions, questions, and have a two-way discussion with the Directorate General of Higher Education. (*)
