UNAIR NEWS – To be a World Class University, Universitas Airlangga has made another brilliant international achievement. This time, the Asian Journal of Accounting Research (AJAR) Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) UNAIR has succeeded in becoming the first accounting journal in Indonesia to be indexed by Scopus.

UNAIR NEWS interviewed Iman Harymawan SE., MBA. Ph.D., Editor in Chief AJAR Journal. According to him, the assessment of the journal was conducted by the Scopus Content Selection and Advisory Board (CSAB).

CSAB is an international group of scientists, researchers, and librarians responsible for reviewing all suggested journal titles for Scopus. The Asian Journal of Accounting Research (AJAR) first submitted a journal submission for Scopus on February 19, 2021.

The next stage was the validation process, followed by the enrichment stage. Furthermore, the journal is ready to be submitted and reviewed by CASB. CASB conducted a review and finally determined AJAR to be a Scopus indexed accounting journal on August 28, 2021.

Dr. Iman and the editorial team are grateful that AJAR has been named the first accounting journal in Indonesia. In the future, FEB UNAIR will strengthen the editorial team to attract many articles from international authors.

“Alhamdulillah, AJAR is the first accounting journal in Indonesia (to be indexed by Scopus, ed). Of course, this is an important step for UNAIR and other journals in Indonesia to compete at the international level,” he said.

At the end of Dr. Iman invited international researchers to publish their articles on AJAR to disseminate knowledge about the conditions and developments of accounting in Indonesia and Asia.

“I hope UNAIR’s international visibility will be better. Networking expands, and more international authors will publish on AJAR,” he concluded.

Besides being indexed by Scopus, AJAR is also indexed by the Australian Business Deans Council (ABDC). Next, AJAR will aim for the Social Science Citation Index. The AJAR editorial team is led by Iman Harymawan SE., MBA. Ph.D. as editor in chief.

The Advisory Board consists of Prof. Kamran Ahmed from La Trobe University and Prof. Kabir Hassan from the University of New Orleans. AJAR’s Associate Editors come from various world-renowned universities such as Universiti Brunei Darussalam, Universitas Airlangga, Coventry University, University of Wollongong Dubai, Illinois State University, Ahlia University, Universiti Utara Malaysia, Curtin University, and University of Turin.
