UNAIR NEWS – Universitas Airlangga Rector, Prof. Dr. Mohammad Nasih, SE., MT., Ak, inaugurated 8,174 new undergraduate and vocational students. The inauguration of new students took place online and offline at the Garuda Mukti Hall, UNAIR Management Office, Monday, August 30, 2021.
A total of 8,174 new students were accepted from the National Selection for State University Admission (SNMPTN), Joint Selection for State University Admission (SBMPTN), and Independent admission. Even though it was conducted online, enthusiasm is still seen from students who officially become part of the Universitas Airlangga.
On that occasion, the Rector greeted thousands of students from Sabang to Merauke. He also talked with students from the farthest regions. Some of them are Wan Hasanah, a student from the Environmental Engineering Undergraduate (S1) study program, Faculty of Science and Technology, from East Aceh, Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam.
There was also Michael Dwight Adolf Setiawan, a student of the English Language and Literature Study Program, Faculty of Humanities, who was accepted through the Higher Education Affirmation Program ( ADik ) from Jayapura, Papua.
In addition, Michelle Fidelia Alexandra, accepted to the Dental Medicine study program, from Tarakan, North Kalimantan. She was accepted through the Partnership Independent admission. Then, Tsamrotul Fu’adah Djawas, who was admitted to the Pharmacy undergraduate study program, came from Rote Ndao, East Nusa Tenggara. On that occasion, the Rector asked students to greet other fellow students from all over Indonesia.
“Everyone is still enthusiastic, even though it’s still in a pandemic,” said Michelle Fidelia Alexandra from Tarakan, North Kalimantan.
The Rector emphasized that even though the students were from the farthest regions, he believed that they have extraordinary achievements. The Rector also congratulated all the new students who had been inaugurated.
“I congratulate you all. You are the chosen ones and selected from tens of thousands of students who registered at UNAIR,” said the Rector. He also congratulated the parents of students who had officially made their sons and daughters become UNAIR students.
“Use this opportunity well. All of your works are expected by the nation and state,” said the Rector. (*)
