UNAIR NEWS – The need for clean water, which must be met, continues to increase from year to year. After the speech, the community service continued with a ribbon-cutting session with the village officials, UNAIR Postgraduate School, and the Komunitas Senyum Desa. At the end of the community service, UNAIR Immunology provided dissemination, “Moving Wholeheartedly to Serve the Country” which was presented by a Master student of Immunology, Sefty Afandi. Sefty also talked about “The Importance of Clean Water for Maintaining Body Endurance During Pandemic”.
“It is considered clean water if it is free from germs, contaminants, heavy metals, bad odor, and taste. Furthermore, the water must be transparent and not murky. It must contain mineral elements that are useful for the body,” explained Sefty.
Finally, Sefty gave tips to keep water quality clean such as providing a 10-meter distance between water sources and latrines or garbage dumps, protecting springs from pollutants, and maintaining cleanliness with no puddles around water sources, no dirt, nor moss. (*)
