UNAIR NEWS – A career in a multinational company is a career mostly desired by students. Besides its prestige and high salary, multinational companies also offer some other facilities that cannot be obtained in any company.
Ahmad Rido’i Yuda Prayogi, is a student of Faculty of Public Health PSDKU UNAIR in Banyuwangi who will have his graduation in September. From his hard work and dedication as a student, he was accepted into the Wilmar Nabati Group (a multinational company engaged in agribusiness) even before he graduated.
He said that to work in multinational companies, preparations should be made during college, not after graduation. Then, what should be prepared? Read further.
Active in social activities
A high GPA is not the main point of the company’s assessment in recruiting members. Yuda revealed that social activities such as community service or volunteering for disasters are an added value that is considered by companies looking for employees.
“Because companies need people who are sensitive and have a great concern for their environment to support the company’s performance, therefore, people with high social awareness will be preferred during recruitment,” said Yuda to UNAIR NEWS team.
Maximize college organizations
In addition to social activities, Yuda revealed experience in organizations must be gained to be accepted in multinational companies as the company is looking for people with high management and teamwork skills. Based on his experience during interviews, organizational history has the greatest assessment weight after social activities.
“Therefore, when you join an organization, you should maximize it, in addition to developing yourself, it can also be an added value for you when applying for jobs,” he said.
Make achievements
Having academic and non-academic achievements is also an added value for the company’s consideration of recruiting employees. The achievements show that you are competent and have an advantage over other candidates.
“Because companies also need creative people with intellectual abilities,” he explained.
Avoid unhealthy life style
Most important of all is healthy, both physically and spiritually. Based on his experience, many of his competitions failed at the medical check-up, which is the last selection during the recruitment process.
“Therefore, when you are a student, find a positive environment, avoid smoking, alcohol, and drugs,” he said. “When you meet all those criteria, write your attractive CV, and don’t forget to pray,” he concluded. (*)
