UNAIR NEWS – Four teams representing Universitas Airlangga in 2020 Indonesian Student Entrepreneurship (KMI) has won medals. A gold medal was won by the Alora Team by Haira Nusantara, a silver medal by the Choipan Team, the Ayra Home Spa Team, and a bronze medal by the Mamagot Team, as well as the best supervisor award won by Dr. Tri Siwi Agustina SE, M.Si.
In that competition, UNAIR won the most medals and became the overall champion of 2020 KMI. On this achievement, Dr. M. Hadi Subhan, SH, MH, CN, as Director of Student Affairs UNAIR said he was proud of the achievements brought by the students.
“This is a very extraordinary achievement. We (UNAIR, ed) won the most medals, especially since this competition is followed by state universities and private universities in Indonesia,” said Hadi on Monday, December 7, 2020.
Hadi explained that his party had provided continuous support during the competition process. It was done by providing guidance from preparation for submitting proposals, until before the expo. UNAIR also facilitates the necessary funding and infrastructure.
He admitted that UNAIR also gave incentives when the delegation won. In the future, Hadi will look for entrepreneurs among students. Furthermore, coaching is also carried out systematically and continuously from the beginning.
“We will develop entrepreneur ‘seeds’ through Student Assistance Team (TPK), collaborate with PPKKHA (Center for Entrepreneurship, Career Development and Alumni Affairs, ed), and direct them to entrepreneurial PKM (Student Creativity Program, ed) participants to participate in KMI,” he explained.
In addition, he continued, coaching will be intensified for scholarship recipients who have entrepreneurship programs, such as scholarships from the Mien R Uno Foundation (MRUF), Bank Syariah Mandiri, and the likes, to participate in the KMI event.
KMI, according to Hadi, needs to be followed because the competition is held by the Ministry of Education and Culture’s National Achievement Center. It is also enlivened by large and small PTNs and private universities. The program provides funding and equips students with entrepreneurship knowledge so they can be ready to contribute to society.
“By participating in KMI students will be fostered by professional experts in their fields, gain the latest entrepreneurial knowledge, and can also be converted into curricular activities,” he added.
Meanwhile, Zulfa Anida as the representative of the Ayra Home Spa team who won a silver medal expressed her joy for her achievement, as her previous efforts did not qualify for KBMI event and now received funding from KMI and managed to become a champion.
“Online implementation allowed us to manage our mood better, because we were not too nervous either. However, the drawback, we cannot directly see the products of other teams, and if it is held offline we can add our network, ” she concluded. (*)
