UNAIR NEWS – After the Computer-based entrance test (UTBK) as a requirement for completing the Phase 1 State University Joint Entrance Test (SBMPTN), Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) will soon open admission for independent pathway and this year, UNAIR will implement the pathway through two groups.
It was from statements of UNAIR Rector Prof. Moh Nasih during a press conference on Tuesday, July 14, 2020 at UNAIR Student Admission Center (PPMB). Prof. Nasih revealed, the two groups of Independent pathway UNAIR are Independent partnership and Independent regular.
Prof. Nasih continued, the partnership pathway is for participants registering with UTBK result, while regular participants took a written test of UNAIR.
“The principle of independent partnership is intended for UNAIR partners, companies, institutions or foundations, to register the sons and daughters of their employees,” explained Prof. Nasih.
In this partnership pathway, he continued, the SP3 or Initial Tuition Fee (UKA) will be paid by the company. For Single Tuition Fee (UKT) or Semester Tuition (UKS) paid by the parents or students.
It is expected to be a win-win solution between UNAIR and partners. Therefore, cooperation can take place as long as students carry out their studies, for example, for the purposes of internships and student work placements after graduation later. So the waiting time for graduates is not too long.
“We hope that this partnership model can accelerate the process of Independent Learning and Independent Campus (Kemendikbud Program, ed). So partners will be together with UNAIR to do a lot of things, “said Prof. Nasih.
As for the regular pathway, Prof. Nasih added that this pathway was one to accommodate students who for some reason were unable to take UTBK. So, students can still enroll in UNAIR through the regular independent pathway with a test scheduled and registration mechanism determined by UNAIR Student Admission Center (PPMB).
Registration for UNAIR independent pathways will be opened on 20 July. Participants can monitor all schedules and requirements on the UNAIR PPMB website. (*)
