UNAIR NEWS – In the midst of Covid-19 plague and epidemic all over the world, Universitas Airlangga has once made another global achievement. This time, a great achievement was obtained from the world ranking institution, Times Higher Education (THE), a ranking agency based in the United Kingdom.
As a university excels in the field of health, UNAIR has contributed greatly for the advancement of the world of health in Indonesia and the world. When the Covid-19 pandemic hit Indonesia in early March, UNAIR has had many breakthroughs to help the government in preparing for Covid-19 handling.
Furthermore, when the pandemic hit, there have been many steps and policy directions taken by UNAIR to assist local and central governments solving these problems. For this reason, it is appropriate for THE to place UNAIR in the Top 100 of Impact Rankings 2020 for health sector.
” Alhamdulillah, in the field of health, we are in Wold’s Top 100 or in 93rd position,” said Prof. Badri Munir Sukoco, Ph.D., as the Head of UNAIR Development and Planning Board.
Prof. Badri also explained more UNAIR’s health achievements which are in the World’s Top 100. According to him, not only UNAIR’s role in alleviating various health problems, the existence of graduates and research results from the health sector also became one of the important points assessed in THE Impact Ranking.
“Our graduates from the field of health and also the results of medical research are also important points to be assessed,” he said.
With this great achievement, Prof. Badri hoped that in the future it could be one of the triggers to improve the performance and services of the entire UNAIR community, especially in the field of health.
“With this ranking, it actually strengthens our role in the global community. It also serves as a benchmark for the extent of our progress and performance so far, “he concluded.
