UNAIR NEWS – Career and Entrepreneurship Development Center (PPKK) Universitas Airlangga held socialization titled “Student Entrepreneurship Program” on Friday, February 14 at Fadjar Hall, 2-floor Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB). Besides, Deffa Lovita and Patricia Deby invited as a speaker to discuss business and prepare student abilities in the professional world.
“It’s been around a year that I have been working in makeup artists (MUA) business. I had tried several other businesses in the culinary world; unfortunately, it did not last long because I was still in university,” said Deffa, a student of Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB).
Furthermore, Deffa said the initial goal of building a business is to be financially independent and make both of her parents happy. She explained that there were people who played a role in her business. One of the people is Irma Sustika, Founder of IWPC (Inspiring Womenpreneur Community).
“Mrs. Irma told me that women need to save up money, in case if something happens to the family. “said Deffa.
Besides, Deffa explained that building a business is not as easy because she went through a lot of things to get here. As the winner of the top 10 Inspiring Womenpreneur Competition, she explained that she also needs to find a marketing partner in running her business.
“Starting with PPKK, I was allowed to join the Inspiring Womenpreneur Community. Finally, I made MUA business, Brushes by Def for young people who wants to get natural look makeup services,” said her.
She said what distinguishes her business from the others is “one person one beauty blender.” she wants to make sure cleanliness of the makeup tools. Being a university student is not an obstacle for Deffa to continue running her business. University is an obligation that must be undertaken while the business must be maintained and developed.
“Divide your time and prioritize your goal in life. For example, I have to focus on business but I don’t forget that university is an obligation. “he added.
She advised students who want to start a business to write down the detail of business objectives. Don’t be afraid to start a business. At the beginning of the business, she bought various expensive makeup equipment one by one.
