UNAIR NEWS – Faculty of Dental Medicine (FKG) Universitas Airlangga has made another achievement in the event titled OPERCULUM 2020 (Creativity Olympiad for Dental and Oral Health Counseling Media), organized by PSMKGI (Indonesian Dental Student Senate Association), held at University of General Soedirman Purwokerto, on February 8, 2020.
Three students, Ajda Duhita Ghassani (class 2018), Raissa Callista Anyndya (2008), and Annisa Rahmaputri (2018), in one team succeeded in winning in the 3rd best Poster Competition. They made the achievement after setting aside 28 other participants. The first and second best winners were Dr. Moestopo University and the University of Indonesia FKG students.
The achievement record completes the achievements of FKG UNAIR students in early 2020. After previously the Women’s Basketball team won 2nd place in the D-start 2020, in the futsal basketball competition between FK-FKG at national level, organized by BEM FKG Universitas Airlangga, on 11-26 January 2020, at GOR Campus C Universitas Airlangga.
While the first winner and third winner were Faculty of Medicine (FK) Sebelas Maret State University (UNS) and FK Universitas Brawijaya (UB). The D-start competition is a part of the 8th Dentine 2020 Olympiad.
“After successfully making this achievement we are determined to continue honing ourselves in competitions and other works,” said one team member.
“We (FKG UNAIR students, ed) are determined to continue to provide the best achievements for the alma mater,” she added.
Based on student affairs, 27 national level achievements and 5 international level achievements were achieved by FKG UNAR students in 2019. Meanwhile, Dean of FKG UNAIR drg. Darmawan on several occasions mentioned that students must be able to balance the hard skills and soft skills. One of them is through achievement outside academic performance, through national and international competitions.
