UNAIR NEWS – The weekend is always a special time for members of AUBMO Community Service Division and Universitas Airlangga Bidikmisi students (UNAIR) in Bidikmisi Mengajar 2019 activity conducted in Bhaskara Sawah, Mulyorejo, Surabaya. The visit is usually filled with learning activities. Not only for school subjects, but also learning about the environment and other knowledge in accordance with specified theme such as literacy on Sunday, December 15, 2019.
Being held in the Bhaskara Sawah area, the instructors provided story books to children to read. This is the latest innovation from, Dewi Karwona, staff of AUBMO UNAIR Community Service division in charged for the program.
“This Bidikmisi Mengajar activity has been carried out for six years, but only this time there is a theme week. Of the several weeks the theme has been carried out this time the agenda is the literacy week, “said Dewi Karwona
According to Dewi, Bidikmisi Mengajar activities are very useful for the community, especially for children who lack education living in disadvantaged areas.
It was shown from Keisya’s answer, one of the students of Bidikmisi Mengajar when she was asked about the activity. Keisya said if she was very impressed and happy because she could get additional lessons and new friends, as this activity was followed by all the children living in Bhaskara Sawah.
“I am very happy to be part of this Bidikmisi Mengajar 2019, I can share my knowledge to children who are grateful for the gift that God has given,” said Yusma, a sixth grade instructor.
The literacy sunday was the final agenda of Bidikmisi Mengajar 2019 after three months of service. In this last activity of Bidikmisi Mengajar 2019 Committee also made a mini library for children in the corner of the mosque which is commonly used as a place of learning. Hopefully, this Bidikmisi Mengajar activity can continue to be carried out as a form of our dedication and concern for the community.
“Hopefully our dedication will not only end here, there are still many places that need our helps and as students we must be the bridge channeling people’s aspirations to the government,” concluded Dewi, the head of Bidikmisi Mengajar 2019.
