UNAIR NEWS – After a briefing was held to students last month, the Community Service Department of Health Policy Administration (AKK), Faculty of Public Health, Universitas Airlangga on “Student and Community Partnerships in Efforts to Increase Literacy towards National Health Insurance” was officially held on October 28-29, 2019 with a concept different from Community Service in general.
To UNAIR NEWS, Syifa’ul Lailiyah, S.KM., M.Kes, as a lecturer at AKK FKM Department, PSDKU UNAIR and representatives of the community service team revealed that community service was carried out in 4 target groups given different interventions.
“This community service has 4 target groups in Licin subdistrict Banyuwangi, with 1 Control group, Taman village and 3 other groups including Segobang, Jelun, and Gumuk Village. The Control group is a group that is not given any intervention, only by looking the number of participants in the beginning and in the end of 2019 whether there is a change in membership, ” she said.
Furthermore, Jelun Village was only given an intervention in the form of dissemination by Healthcare BPJS, Segobang Village was given an intervention outreach by BPJS and community assistance by cadres. The students in Segobang Village were tasked to monitor the implementation of home visits by cadres, each student accompanied 1 cadre. The cadres were given training after dissemination.
“Then Gumuk Village was given a dissemination intervention by Healthcare BPJS and dissemination by UNAIR students. Students give dissemination to the community in each different hamlet who have not yet participated, there were 20 students involved, where each student provided dissemination to 10 household heads, ” she continued.
In the implementation there were two home visits, the first home visit before the intervention was given to explore the reasons why the community did not want to become JKN KIS participants. The second visit, after the intervention was given, there will be an understanding from the community, they would register and become BPJS participants.
“Hopefully, after this Community Service activity, all target groups can understand the importance of health insurance. So that later there will be an increase related to the number of JKN KIS Membership in each of these villages, ” she stated.
