UNAIR NEWS – Back to Village (BV) Community Service Program Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) in Gunungteguh, Bawean Island, Gresik Regency updated the village websites. There are two types of websites, the village website and the village digital library.
The operational two websites are used to publish community activities in Bawean Island. The economy of Bawean Island community is the main target. Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMD) and village craft centers can market their products online.
While the village digital library was updated so that the library can be more flexible in oranization. Data management such as member names data and bookshelf location are the priority of the website.
Arinal Izza Yudhistira as the person in charge of developing the village website revealed that the domain was assisted by Gresik Regency Government. Arinal, felt the support Gresik Regency Government as making the domain must meet quite complex requirements.
“The domain has been prepared by Gresik Regency Government and we just need to process the data,” he said.
In processing website data, Arinal is assisted by Teduh and Rama. After the data management is complete, mentoring and dissemination to the head of service division is the next goal so the community can use the website without any difficulties.
Website development conducted by Arinal and friends often constrained by internet networks. They have to go to the village hall to get internet network via Wi-Fi. The difficult internet network did not discourage them from developing the website.
Gunungteguh village community feel helped by the websites. The websites developed by BV KKN Bawean team is expected to be an example of village websites’ use for community welfare.
Friendly and open community make the website development easy to do. The people of Gunungteguh Village want their economic and welfare problems solved by it.
” Alhamdulillah, the people in Gunungteguh are very friendly, even if we ask for an address, we are willing to take us to the house,” he said.
The BV Bawean KKN Team does not only focus on websites. Other work programs such as elementary school teaching and family planning counseling are other important programs they will do. (*)
