On that occasion, Noca was in a team with two Thai students, one Cambodian student, and three Chinese students. They presented their ideas about sustainable city. It was focused on how to live sustainably, from using renewable energy to design rice fields that can be used to culture fish and crabs, adopting the rice fields in Hangzhou.
“This is a challenge for all participants to adapt in a group with different academic backgrounds and nationalities,” said Noca.
Noca’s motivation to participate in the activity came from her interest in the topic, sustainable city. Especially when she comes from Surabaya, a city of Indonesia which has won various national and international awards.
By joining the program, Noca wants to learn how cities in China can grow rapidly. Both in terms of technology, transportation, processing of resources, economy, tourism, and various other aspects.
The most memorable experience for Noca was when she had the opportunity to visit the largest company in China, Alibaba. Besides being amazed at the various subsidiaries of Alibaba Group, Noca also admires the performance of employees and the work ethics there.
“My decision to attend this summit without hesitation is a milestone in my learning progress, during and even after I finished my undergraduate study,” stated Noca.
