Improving Writing Quality, Journalistic School Holds Training with Times Indonesia

UNAIR NEWS – As part of improving the quality of writing for Student Journalism Journalism School Batch I, Information and Public Relations Center (PIH) Universitas Airlangga held a writing training. In collaboration with Times Indonesia media, writing training conducted on Saturday, June 15.

Located at Kahuripan Room 301 Campus C UNAIR, the writing training program was opened by Secretary of PIH UNAIR Dr. Imron Mawardi. In his speech, Imron hoped that the knowledge gained by journalistic participants could be applied even to participants who graduated from UNAIR.

“Hopefully, the knowledge gained by participants in this training can become a provision and applied in the future,” said Dr. Imron.

After the speech, the first material delivered by Khoirul Anwar related to the development of information resilience in the digital era. According to the CEO of Times Indonesia, who is familiarly called Anwar, one of the strengths of information resilience is the balance between negative and positive news.

“One of the things that can be done in early detection of information resilience strength is to see whether there is a balanced and positive negative news at the moment,” Anwar said.

Furthermore, he also provided material related to information resilience branding. Some things that can be done to improve branding are media branding, Google branding, and creative image.

Besides that, there was also Doddy Hernando, or Mr. D had an opportunity to train participants to create creative images. Moreover, related to the use of smartphones in creating images.

According to Mr. D, smartphones are not only used to use social media but also to use positively. Some things that can be done to work using a smartphone are by utilizing video editing, music, graphic design applications, and so on. Besides, users can also sell their work via the smartphone.

“Use the device as much as possible, don’t play social media only,” said Mr. D.

Furthermore, Mr. D also explained some examples of creating content and gave the participants time to create their content. At least, there was four best content, and they got souvenirs from Mr. D.

The trainees had an opportunity to write news on Times Indonesia page. With all the material and training given to the participants, the speakers hoped that participants could work more often and write positive things, especially about UNAIR.
