UNAIR NEWS – As a campus that sets out to be among TOP 500 world universities, Universitas Airlangga continues to strengthen its strategic aspects as a part of a planned effort to strengthen the quality of education services for Indonesian people.
This time UNAIR is paying attention and strengthening the field of human resources (HR) by inaugurating the employees to become civil servants, especially for employees who have fulfilled the terms and procedures of civil servants with achievements and years of service.
This time UNAIR took the oath of 198 newly appointed UNAIR civil servants. Conducted on Tuesday, April 30, 2019 in Amerta Hall, 4th Floor, Campus C Management Office, the oath taking was led directly by UNAIR Rector Prof. Dr. Mohammad Nasih, SE., MT., Ak., CMA. There were also deans from 14 faculties and heads of units and institutions.
Prof. Nasih gave some advice and explanations regarding employees’ attitude. Civil servant status for an employee, he continued, is not an easy matter, especially in relation to serving the community.
“As civil servants, there will be supervisors and observers who always monitor us (PNS, ed). Therefore, being a civil servant is not an easy matter, “he said.
Even so, Prof. Nasih also said that the difficulties and status of civil servants were part of the good intentions of all employees to serve. Becoming part of great work towards progress and bringing Indonesian towards a better direction.
“This (PNS status, ed) is part of our dedication to truly contribute to society and the nation. This oath is the initial intention to serve,” he said.
Prof. Nasih also appealed to 198 new UNAIR civil servants to maintain the ethical values of civil servants. In addition, they were encouraged to prioritize the values of service and humanity including being neutral and merely providing community service.
“The closest example is Election. We must be neutral, we should not show support on any choice. This is very different, if you become a civilian, “he said.
On the other hand, an additional 198 civil servants are expected to be able to strengthen UNAIR HR field to realize the planned targets. Within any scope of work, civil servants are expected to continue to uphold the basic values of employees, both in higher education institution and in the context of Indonesian state.
“I’d like to say congratulations, congratulations to serve. And, let’s work together, “he said.
The 198 civil servants who were sworn were lecturers and education staff. They were from all 14 faculties in UNAIR and the Postgraduate School, including from units and institutions of UNAIR, such as Universitas Airlangga Hospital (RSUA), Library, BPP (Planning and Development Board), PPKK (Center for Career and Entrepreneurship Development), Directorate of Finance, and Directorate of Facilities and Infrastructure.
