UNAIR NEWS – Music arrangement in 4th Movie Symphony Concert led by Eko Salaludin Aziz successfully amazed the audience on Friday, April 26. The concert was held at Surabaya Cultural Center by Student Activity Unit (UKM) Airlangga Orchestra Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) and attended by students, parents, and public.
The 4th Movie Symphony Concert music arrangement composed by Eko Salaludin Aziz as well as conductor of orchestra and Daniel Kinantyo Christy and guitar player. A total of 58 players and one conductor were involved in the event.
The players were from UNAIR students and alumni. There were two parts displayed with each part consisting of nine world popular Original Soundtrack films (OST).
“We choosed Movie Symphony because the current film soundtrack are familiar for us but we rarely hear from the orchestra side.” said Gredion Dimas Satriyo Hutomo as Head of 4th Movie Symphony Concert.
There were two parts to the concert. The first part, opening shows from Avengers, Mission Impossible, The God Father, Doubt, My Heart Will Go On, Let It Go, Never Enough, James Bond 007, and Gundam.
While in second part, the songs presented included Shutsujin, Transformer, Pirates, Beauty and the Beast, A Whole New World, Indonesian Medley, Another Day of the Sun, Cartoon Medley, and Sherina Medley.
Gideon as a guitar player at the concert said preparations were made before the concert, which was four months. From 4th Movie Symphony Concert, Gideon hopes that each player can increase their talent.
In addition, Dra. Sedianingsih, Ak., M.Sc., as the supervisor of UKM Airlangga Orchestra said that event aims to present UKM Airlangga Orchestra UNAIR. According to her, there were more concert participants and alumni in in 2019.
