UNAIR NEWS – The Association of Karawitan Sastra Jendra (Pakarsajen) Faculty of Humanities (FIB) Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) is one of Semi-Autonomous Bodies (BSO) which is engaged in the interests of talent, especially musical arts. Pakarsajen often hold various events, especially at FIB.
On Tuesday, April 23, Pakarsajen held a performance with the title of Manggalaning Wengi. The event held at FIB UNAIR hall succeeded in attracting UNAIR students and academics.
Manggalaning Wengi is one of the latest work programs from Pakarsajen in 2019. As stated by the chief executive, Kemilau Mutiara Putri, in the previous management, the activity has never been scheduled.
“The famous Pakarsajen work program is Ngangsu Candra Kidung (NCK) which is held in the theater. In a small form, Pakarsajen also had a similar agenda but it was held at FIB, namely Maleman, ” said Kemilau.
“Well, Wengi Manggalaning is one of a series of events from Maleman activities that we have prepared for a few more months,” she added.
Aside from being a series of Maleman events, Manggalaning Wengi opened Pakarsajen training program called Guyub Reket on Friday, April 26.
Head of Pakarsajen, Galih Rachmasiwi Adji, emphasized Manggalaning Wengi is appreciation for cantrik enom (new member, ed) for their one semester of training.
“We want to show them how to perform in front of people. There must be a sense of pride, ” said Galih.
Galih Rachmasiwi Adji explained cantrik enom were beyond his expectations. It was seen from several improvisation on their songs performance.
“Through this activity, we want to show our quality talent. This is just a beginning, we will improve our performance.” added English Language and Literature student.
Seeing the success of the event, the committee hopes there will be a follow up event in the next management. (*)
