UNAIR NEWS – Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) stated that it is ready to facilitate the UTBK (Computer-Based Exams). This was reflected in the implementation of UTBK 2019 executive committee coordination meeting on Monday, April 8, 2019 at Kahuripan Hall 301. The meeting was attended by all UTBK central committees and several representatives from partner universities such as STIESIA, Unitomo, Muhammadiyah University of Surabaya (UMS), and UNTAG.
For the UTBK implementation, UNAIR provided 28,380 units of computers. The total UTBK applicants for the first period of registration, from March 1 to 24, 2019 was 13,875 participants and around 11,900 participants will be in the second period.
Junaidi Khotib S.Si, Apt., M.Kes., Ph.D as UNAIR Vice Rector IV explained that preparations of UTBK ahead have been well prepared by UTBK participants. Prospective students must get sufficient information regarding the implementation of the test.
“Prospective students, parents, and teachers are expected to get enough information so parents are not easily worried. We hope all participants and parents can focus and be ready to carry out UTBK test. So participants can get the best value, “he added.
UNAIR also prepared facilities for participants with special needs. There is one person with special needs applied in the first period.
“If we compare, the capacity is 80 percent, meaning that it is not 100 percent full. It will be used as a backup for those with special needs,” he said.
The implementation of UTBK simulation has been carried out twice on Tuesday, March 3, 2019 and Wednesday, March 30, 2019. Various divisions report several problems and preparations in the implementation of UTBK 2019. Problems with networks, servers, and bandwidth have been handled and resolved properly.
Meanwhile, Prof. Dr. Bambang Sektiari Lukiswanto DEA, Drh, as the executive coordinator revealed in the next few days there would be a dissemination to the proctor team and PJL team. The training will be carried out in stages. The documents like minutes of exam, rules, guidelines, proctor identity, and the identity of the participants have been prepared.
“We asked Telkom to fully support the implementation of this UTBK. We must be able to secure and facilitate the optimal implementation of UTBK to run smoothly and get optimal results, “he added. (*)
