UNAIR NEWS – “The Effect of Physical and Non-Physical Work Environment on Employee Performance through Job Satisfaction as Intervening Variable in Universitas Airlangga Management Office” was the title of thesis that led Hendro Gunarto to be the best graduate of Postgraduate School in March 2019 Graduation.
The graduate born in Surabaya, 5 February 1980 focused on that topic because he wanted to know and analyze the influence of work environment in UNAIR, especially in UNAIR Management Office.
“Because I am also an employee of Directorate of Human Resources, so I need to research and analyze the influence of work environment in UNAIR, both for physical and non-physical work environments,” he explained.
Physical factors, he explained, include things related to infrastructure in the implementation of work and work environment. While non-physical factors are concerning the relationship between employees to employee performance through job satisfaction.
“The result is expected to find out the steps needed to improve the performance of employees so that all targets and objectives of the University can be achieved,” added the graduate.
Regarding tips on becoming the best graduate, the second child of five siblings said that during study there must be plans and targets to be achieved, apply lecture material to actual situation at work, and build a broad network, both with colleagues, seniors, alumni and lecturers.
“And what is equally important is having a strong desire and willingness to be the best,” concluded the graduate with 3.85 GPA. (*)
