UNAIR NEWS – In the third week of March 2019, Universitas Airlangga Scouting Student Activity Unit (UKM) held 622 and 623 group leader assembly (Mugus) on Sunday, March 17, 2019 in Kahuripan 300 Hall, 3rd Floor UNAIR. The meeting was held every three years by reviewing policies applied for the past three years.
Prof. Dr. Drs. Budi Prasetyo, M.Si, Group 623 Surabaya City Scoutmaster, Hariyono Harimurti, S.Sos., Group 623 Leader, Iwan Wahyu Widayat, M.Psi., Group 623 Administrator, Putu Aditya FA, UNAIR Student Affairs representative and 45 UNAIR Scouting UKM members.
Mugus is a three-year agenda which is filled with accountability reports from Group Scoutmaster (2016-2019). Mugus also explained about the group’s finance, work plan, vision and mission of the next term of service, and the election and investiture of Group Scoutmaster by the Chairman of the Presidium.
Afifah Iftah, one of UNAIR scouts, hoped that 2019 work meeting can produce relevant policies. The problems that occur in previous years can be used as reference for new members of Scouting UKM. The policies produced in 2019 mug will be applied for next three years.
Prof. Dr. Drs. Budi Prasetyo, M.Si, also hoped that UNAIR Scout UKM will maintain good relations with Surabaya District Headquarters in order to increase synergy and cooperation in future activities.
“Hopefully in the future UNAIR Scouting UKM can hold and also actively participate in international scale activities, because it will provide very useful experience and relations for UNAIR Scouting UKM,” he added.
Scouting UKM on February 2-5 2019 participated in a joint training program in Diponegoro University, Semarang. By sending 30 member representatives, the workshop was held in the framework of annual joint exercises attended by Gadjah Mada University (UGM), Sepuluh November Institute (ITS), Diponegoro University (Undip), and UNAIR. The joint practice was held every Friday on 2nd floor Scouting UKM Secretariat, Campus C Student Center Building, UNAIR.
In addition to conducting training, UKM Scouts are also actively participating in regional and national level activities. Then in 2015, UKM Scouts sent their representatives to take part in an international jamboree in Thailand. (*)
