UNAIR NEWS – Scientific publications of international journals are an opportunity to get awards and build cooperation between domestic and foreign universities. Minister of Finance Regulation No. 46/2013 and Minister of Finance Regulation No. 17/2013 for Lecturers, Head of Lecturers and Professors is an obligation that must be fulfilled to show reputation and contribution to science development. This is also in line with one of tri dharma, research.
The demands of publications applied at universities have a considerable impact with increasing awareness of lecturers in conducting scientific studies and research. Thus, Lecturers became active and productive to write scientific papers at reputable national and international levels.
Towards a world-class university, Faculty of Nursing (FKp) of Universitas Airlangga is improving itself by holding a “Workshop on Reworking Manustcript For Publication” in the series of Adjunct Professor event. This time Vice Rector III of Universitas Airlangga Prof. Mochammad Amin Alamsjah, Ir., M.Si., Ph.D, welcomed Prof. Gramae Drummond Smith RN. BA FEANS PhD from University of Edinburgh. Located in Meeting Room, leaders 2 Faculty of Nursing Universitas Airlangga on Thursday 6 December.
In his remarks, Prof. Mochammad Amin Alamsjah, Ir., M.Si., Ph.D., stated that the collaboration was expected to improve the quality and reputation of Universitas Airlangga journal.
“This activity was an initiation to collaborate in improving research collaboration and international publications to support Universitas Airlangga towards the top 500 World Class University,” he said.
Meanwhile, Prof. Gramae Drummond Smith RN. BA FEANS Ph.D from University of Edinburgh in this workshop provided several references on how to write and publish international journals to obtain reviewers.
“A lot of people can speak in English, but not everyone can write in English, especially scientific writing,” explained Prof. Smith.
This workshop activity became starting point for lecturers to open their horizons about international journal publication. Publication of international journals for lecturers in one year provides the advantage of opening scholarship opportunities and challenges in finding reviewers. It becomes very important to show that lecturers are experts in their fields. (*)
