UNAIR NEWS – As one of the best universities in Indonesia, Universitas Airlangga continues to improve the equity of education. Socialization activity conducted outside Java island once in a year. In previous year, PIH Staff went to Bali and Banjarmasin. This year, the socialization event was held in Palangka Raya, Central Kalimantan.
The activity targeted for high school student was carried out on Tuesday, 27 November. There were 4 people from UNAIR team in charge to give information about UNAIR in two best High School in Palangkaraya, SMA Negeri 1 and SMA Negeri 5.
At SMA Negeri 1 Palangka Raya, UNAIR team was welcomed by Vice of Public Relation, Anwidur S.Pd, and conselling teachers in there. One of UNAIR member team, Anindya Anandita, S.Kom explained new student admission process in 2019 to all of highschool teacher in SMA Negeri 1 Palangka Raya.
“The new student admission process was just socialized by central committee last Saturday, 24 November 2018, at Yogyakarta,” said Anandita.
One of the teacher was interested with this socialization event and asked several questions regarding on general information and ways of entrance to UNAIR with SNMPTN and SBMPTN system. Anindya as one of Information and Public Relations Center member, Universitas Airlangga answered all the questions.
Meanwhile, in SMA Negeri 5 Palangka Raya, UNAIR team was welcomed by school’s guidance and counseling coordinator, Dra. Tjiliwati and received a warm welcome from all of teachers and students in there.
The socialization event carried out in school hall, hundreds of students attended and listened enthusiastically to UNAIR team. They delivered material about new student admission process in Universitas Airlangga which will begin early next year.
Mrs. Wija as one of counselling teachers asked about the number of students could participate in UTBK test.
“For instance, student from Science Major wants to take Social group test. Then, they must take test twice. First on Science Department test and then Social Department test. What if they are not satisfied with the results, are they allowed to take the test again?” asked Mrs. Wija.
Answering to that question, Anindya confirmed that the test could only be done twice, no more.
“The number of UTBK test that students can do is twice. If they are not satisfied with the results of the first test, then they are allowed to t again to fix it. But no more than two tests, “said Anindya.
