UNAIR NEWS – Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) Faculty of Law (FH) students made another national achievements in the debate competition. This time it was from the event held by Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University (UIN) Jakarta in 2018 UIN Law Fair on 9-11 November.
There were national achievements obtained this time, 1st Winner of the UIN Law Fair Debate, the General Champion of UIN Law Fair, and the Best Speaker at UIN Law Fair. In the final stage, the FH UNAIR team faced a team from UNSRI with a debate motion on ‘Prohibition to Former Corruption Convicts to Participate in Legislative Elections’.
FH UNAIR debate team was represented by 5 students from the Semi Autonomous Body (BSO) of Young Jurist Airlangga Society(MYMA), Sayyidatul Insiyah, Jihan Anjania Aldi, Shevierra Danmadiyah, Putri Larasati, Alfyan Wahyu Ramadhan. The Best Speaker in this competition was awarded to Shevierra Danmadiyah.
2018 UIN Law Fair event was attended by various universities both state and private throughout Indonesia such as Gadjah Mada University (UGM), University of Indonesia (UI), University of Jember (Unej), UII Jogjakarta, Sriwijaya University (UNSRI), Universitas Brawijaya (UB), Sebelas Maret University (UNS), Diponegoro University (UNDIP), University Surabaya (UBAYA), University of North Sumatra (USU), Maulana Malim Ibrahim UIN Malang, Sam Ratulangi University (UNSRAT), Indonesian College of Law (STIH) Jentera, Pancasila University, Tarumanegara University and many more.
This achievement adds the achievements that were previously made by FH UNAIR students.
Shevi, Shevierra Danmadiyah’s nickname, winner of Best Speaker who is also MYMA’s chairman, hoped that in the future, there will always be achievement for alma mater.
“It is a pride for us to contribute in the form of achievements to the alma mater and parents,” she said.
Shevi was also grateful for being supported by various parties including lecturers who guide them in the debate material and a team that has been dedicated their time for a month to practice. (*)
